Don’t let the AL39’s old school styling give you the wrong impression. It is a very sophisticated modern sounding ribbon microphone based on original innovative designs and developed for today’s highest resolution digital recording with an extended frequency range beyond 25kHz.

The AL39’s original short-path geometry is the culmination of the years of research. Its ribbon has a unique fine tuning adjustment to assure for consistency from unit to unit and undergoes a proprietary corrugation process to maintain its integrity without special handling.

The AL39 is 100% American made from parts manufactured in our shop and uses a specifically matched low noise toroidal transformer to give it a distinctive tonal balance. Its body is crafted from stainless steel on precision CNC machinery and is assembled and tested to obtain the highest possible level of performance and years of dependability.

The AL39’s hard mount swivel is conveniently adjustable and is intended for use individually, or as X-Y or M-S pairs. They are ideal for use on lead and background vocals, choir, voice over, film and TV post production, location recording, orchestral, band, and percussion instruments, piano, brass woodwinds, strings, acoustic and electric guitars, room microphones, drum overheads, among other recording, live sounds, and broadcast applications.
